I'm back after another surgery (outpatient) on my left wrist . . . . thank goodness that I'm right handed and that should be the end of it with all systems Go now. Again our dear friends and neighbors, the Gaskins', gave us so much help.
Above are paintings in the new (for me) style that my soul is led to paint. I call it "Modern Expressions" and I'll be posting to that blog more in the future. Please stay in touch.
This past Friday evening, November 20, I attended the Opening Reception for the 2009 OPA Eastern Regional. It is a beautiful exhibit held at The Corse Gallery & Atelier in Jacksonville, Florida. My painting "Orange Blossoms" was one of the first to sell and I am very happy.
The next morning the great painter and OPAM member, C.W. Mundy gave an excellent art demo for a "sold out" performance. As always, C.W. delivered the best instruction along with the science of painting to us and what a privilege it was for me to be there. As most of you know . . . my husband, Karl, is in very fragile health and for the last six months I have not left him (didn't want to). My youngest son, Jason, and his wife, Leticia, drove the three hours down to our home in Naples early Friday morning, moved in and took over the complete care of Karl so I could leave. They did so many things while they were here and Karl said they were so good to him he was afraid he had gotten spoiled. What a blessing the children are to me and I can't thank them enough.
This 25th anniversary bouquet is very special to me. My husband, Karl is quite ill with heart and lung disabilities. For the last five months he has been homebound, on oxygen 24/7, walking with a walker and it's very hard for him to speak because of his shortness of breath. Somehow he managed to get his message across to a local florist for this huge bouquet for me. Our good friends and neighbors, the Gaskins, brought over the champagne and beautiful card. Karl has not been in physical pain through his ordeal but is very, very weak. Life is most precious and we're thankful for every hour.
Now, you probably can understand why I'm painting non-stop for days on end.
