    I like the yellows in this painting. Are you enjoying doing these little paintings. I see you are also painting in acrylics.

  2. Nora - Good to hear from you. Yes I really am enjoying painting in a more abstract/impressionistic way. I was disappointed in the acrylics at first but have learned to use a thickening gel with them and it's exciting to use a palette knife working with them. These small paintings are just warm up exercises for the large paintings to come.

    In Jacksonville, FL last week-end C.W. Mundy (a fantastic painter who I really admire) presented the OPA artists with a wonderful art demonstration. He used Winsor Newton Griffin alkyd paints instead of our regular oils and he said he's been using them for some time. I've got the alkyd paints now and used them to paint "Earring" & Poppy Power" (above) They behave perfect for my new painting styles and I doubt if I would have gone to the acrylics had I gotten the alkyds first.
