NORA KASTEN Artist Oil Painting "Morning Service" / JOURNEY CONTINUED

"Morning Service"

Oil painting on linen  (26"x30") From the archives  SOLD

"I'm in West Haven, CT tonight and 1400 miles from home.
Today I visited The Philadelphia Museum of Art thinking I could view one of my all time favorite paintings.  I thought that Daniel Garber's painting of his daughter, Tanis, was in Philadelphia's permanent collection but not so.  I saw the painting there 15 years ago, just a few months after viewing it at The Indianapolis Museum of Art.  I was disappointed today but still was able to view several Old Masters' good paintings and that made the trip worthwhile.  I have found a bad copy of "Tanis" on the web for you to see but of course it seems like nothing compared to the real thing.  It's a large painting (60" x 46")."

"Tanis" by Daniel Garber  1910 or 1916
