"My husband, Karl, is still very weak but has stayed on this plateau for two days. The doctor is hoping to discharge him from the hospital on Monday, June 28th to a rehab facility for a few weeks. I can recoup my energy while Karl is being taken care of by others and hopefully we can go back to the way we were together here at home. Tomorrow is a day for Nora and not going to the hospital until late afternoon. . . . I would like to paint maybe a small painting."

"Today is finally good news. Last Saturday morning, June 19th, my husband, Karl, was taken to the hospital after our 911 call. He has congestive heart failure but we learned that he was bleeding internally and he was given two units of blood Saturday night. Other problems such as fluid in his lung and very low blood pressure are also being treated. Yesterday afternoon we got the good news that there is no cancer in the upper or lower GI tract which was feared because of the bleeding. He is very, very weak and physical therapists are coming in today to help him walk again. The doctor says Karl should be able to walk before we can bring him back home. He is such a good man and I ask your prayers for him."

Artist NORA KASTEN'S Granddaughter, Macy Marie Simrell

"Macy is my seventeen year old granddaughter and she plays softball for her Morristown, Indiana high school team. She was one of the team's members to be chosen to attend the Mid Hoosier Conference Sports Banquet that was held last night and she received a medal and certificate for being one of the outstanding (best) players in the conference." . . . . isn't she cute!
