BOUNDLESS
I grow boundlessly in Christ Consciousness.
As a spiritual being, I am not bound by the past. Every day is a new beginning. Each new year brings boundless opportunities for growing in Christ Consciousness as I deepen my relationship with God.
I gratefully release the past, appreciating all that contributed to my current spiritual awareness. With expectancy, I turn my thoughts to the riches of the coming year.
I aspire to live a Christ-centered life. Whatever my possessions or social status, my wealth is found in kindness, forgiveness, and wholeness. I seek first the kingdom of God, and I am enfolded in boundless Christ Love. With heart and mind open, I give and receive boundless riches in the coming new year!
This grace was given to me to bring to the Gentiles the news of the boundless riches of Christ. —Ephesians 3:8

PRAISE
I praise God. All is good.
We create our life experiences through our thinking, and praise expands our experience of good. Unity cofounder Charles Fillmore wrote: “We increase whatever we praise. The whole creation responds to praise and is glad.” When I hold positive thoughts, I pave the way for positive results.
I live in a world of infinite possibility. As I praise what is good and true, my awareness of the abundance of the Universe expands. As I praise the goodness in me and others, I unleash a plethora of blessings.
The Universe supports my thinking and supplies my needs. Powerful, positive thoughts lead to powerful, positive outcomes. I praise God for my life, and all is well.

Now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your glorious name.—1 Chronicles 29:13

TREASURED
Times spent with loved ones are deeply treasured gifts.
Some people treasure jewels and gold, but my greatest gems are connection and companionship with my loved ones. Jesus told of a man who buried his treasure in a field, then sold everything to buy that field. As I know the value of togetherness, I gladly invest in happy moments with those I love.
Whether I am planning to be with loved ones in the coming days or simply enjoying cherished memories, our times together are deeply valuable to my soul. Whether I spend time with family, longtime friends, neighbors, or colleagues, I cherish the love, companionship, and joy we share. I appreciate our moments of connection. I treasure the special people who enrich my life.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.—Luke 12:34

SNOWMAN ON NAPLES, FL BEACH / Dec. 18, 2013

A PERFECT DAY

"Yesterday morning it was 56 degrees here in Naples, FL.  Yesterday afternoon, the temperature reached 79 degrees.

Early morning I sat by the fire (I have a wonderful fireplace in my beautiful living room), snuggled up with an afghan, meditated and wrote the "Morning Pages".  In the afternoon, wearing a swimsuit, I took a one hour walk on the beach and then just sat in the beach chair for another hour, enjoying the gentle breeze while basking in the warm sunshine.  My Blessings are too numerous to count!  May you all realize your own abundant Blessings.

With great LOVE, "MERRY CHRISTMAS " and "HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL.
Remember  . . . . . we are all in this together.

Self Portrait   Oil on Linen  (24"x20")    2009    /  Archived

"This was me almost 5 years ago.  Today, after cataract surgery, I no longer need to wear glasses and my hair is silver with a very short cut.

Of course my spiritual journey began the day I was born but in January of this year, 2013, I began a Spiritual Quest.  This year is coming to a close now but not my Spiritual Quest.  With Joy I proclaim this year to be one of the most remarkable years of my life here on Earth.

Today, another Blessing!  The artist and author, Florence Scovel Shinn, was revealed to me.  She was born in 1871 and transitioned in 1940.  She attended the PA Artist Academy and was married for some years to one of the Ashcan artists of New York,  Everett Shinn  (1876-1953).
Her words are the reminder of what I learned back in 1982 after reading Napoleon Hill's book "Think And Grow Rich".  This is just what I need today and gladly share Florence's book with you now.  I have this book on my IPad/Kindal but it is so good having her book read to me."

LET GO, LET GOD
I welcome abundant good as I let go and let God.
I am grateful for my tenacity, for it serves me well. Pushing myself to cross the finish line or complete a project on time can help me succeed. However, divine wisdom tells me there is also a time to let go.
Some races are not mine to run. Some projects are better accomplished by slowing down. Some answers come when I wait for inspiration, rather than force a solution. I pray to know what is mine to do—when to push and when to allow.
When I let go, I make room for God. I open myself to divine wisdom, guidance, and ideas—for success, insights, and inner peace. I make way for unlimited good to come through unexpected channels. I welcome abundant good as I let go and let God.

Agree with God, and be at peace; in this way good will come to you.—Job 22:21

TURNING POINT
Today is my turning point, and now is my moment.
Every moment brings an opportunity to experience life anew. Every day carries the potential for transformation and growth—for adopting a fresh perspective, making a different choice, or taking a new path.
I choose to make today a turning point day. Whether the changes I make are large or small, each one propels my growth. I discover more about myself, how Spirit works in and through me, and how to express my divine nature in meaningful ways.
As I connect with Spirit within, I know I am supported in every way. I step out in faith to experience life more fully. I am confident and excited as I venture into new territory and embrace this turning point in my life.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.—Ecclesiastes 3:1

"Exactly, a year ago today, I bought my nice condo here in Naples to be on my own.  This has been an exciting year, to say the least, and in two days, Monday, September 23, 2013, I will close on the beautiful and much larger new home that God has for me now.  It is GOOD to be led of Holy Spirit."

SURRENDER
Surrendering to Spirit, I experience deep peace and well-being.
At times life flows smoothly, and at other times, it may seem like a battle. If I find myself in opposition with those around me or in conflict with myself, I cease the struggle now. I turn the matter—and, indeed, my life—over to the living Spirit of Truth within me.
I begin in quiet contemplation, laying down the defensive armor of strongly held convictions and any weapons of judgment or criticism. This is a conscious act of faith and courage.
I relinquish control and surrender to Spirit. In the Silence, my open heart and mind reap the rewards of God’s living, loving Spirit. As I entrust myself to Infinite Love, I experience deep peace and well-being.
For not in my bow do I trust … But you have saved us from our foes.—Psalm 44:6, 7

LET GO, LET GOD
I let go of struggle, and let God be my inspiration.
When I say “I let go and let God,” what am I releasing, and what am I allowing? I let go of condemnation and allow the unconditional love of God. I release darkness and sorrow and embrace the light and joy of God. I let go of struggle, lack, and limitation and let in the peace, substance, and power of God.
In my time of prayer and meditation, I become as a child listening to a loving parent. I cease telling God what I know and seek only to know God’s presence. I let go of limited understanding and let God within me bring spiritual understanding. As I let go of earthly troubles, my burdens lift and I rejoice in the kingdom of God within me.
Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.—Luke 18:16

INNER PEACE
I am open to the peace of God within.
The world does not determine whether or not I am at peace. I am willing to let peace begin with me. Inner peace is a state of mind and heart, one I can choose anytime.
I take time right now to center myself in peace. In a moment of silence, I release any concerns and feel my oneness with God. I relax, breathe deeply, and rest quietly. I pray “Peace, be still!” until I feel peace in every fiber of my being.
Beginning my day with a peaceful heart, I become a channel of peace, opening the way for peaceful encounters in the hours ahead. I set the intention to bring awareness to my thoughts, words, and actions throughout the day and to stay centered in peace.
For God is a God not of disorder but of peace. —1 Corinthians 14:33

PREPARED
I am ready for this new day!
I awaken refreshed, renewed, and energized. To begin my morning, I start with prayer, connecting with Source. The ideas I hold in mind and heart help prepare me for the day ahead. I affirm that I am one with God and aligned with divine life, order, peace, and plenty. I am ready for this new day, whatever it may bring.
If I have specific goals in mind, I decide on the first steps to reach them. If I have an upcoming test, I study. If I’ve been assigned a task at work, I prepare by gathering the resources I need. When new opportunities arise, I seize them with confidence.
Preparation is necessary in many facets of life. My heart and mind are open and prepared for every blessing this day holds.
Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people’s way.—Isaiah 57:14

"ROSES"
Painting #891 of 1180 paintings   Oil on linen  (24"x20")    painted July, 2006      SOLD

"Yesterday, I purchased a house at Grasmere At Wyndemere here in Naples and the closing is two weeks from tomorrow, September 23, 2013.  This condo I bought a year ago is just fine but I have always felt it was temporary.  Now, I am so looking forward to moving into a nice home again."

From The Daily Word at Unity

My highest good is always unfolding.

Circumstances change. Plans get interrupted. Life takes unexpected turns. Even so, I remain calm and unshaken as I stand on the solid ground of faith, knowing that my highest good is unfolding.

Beneath every outer change is the unchanging Truth of God—stable, unvarying, consistent. In God, nothing is ever lost. In God, there is enough power and strength to meet any life experience. In God, I know I am not alone. I maintain the courage and will to embrace all that life offers.

As conditions change, I am flexible, moving through times of transformation with ease and grace. I expect the manifestation of my highest good, and I embrace whatever form it may take.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change.—Psalm 46:2

POSSIBILITIES
I am one with the divine Presence, and all things are possible.
It may seem that a situation is impossible, or a problem is unsolvable, but I know that with God, the impossible becomes possible.
As I open my heart and mind to the presence of God, I grow in awareness of the divine potential that is present in all of life. The Presence transcends any appearance of lack or limitation.
I connect with God in prayer and meditation, where the fullness of life becomes clear. My imagination and faith allow me to see possibilities beyond outer appearances. My wisdom and will empower me to realize and manifest new possibilities.
At one with the divine Presence, I embrace my unlimited potential. Right outcomes are coming to fruition.
For God all things are possible.—Matthew 19:26

PROTECTED
Resting in the awareness of God’s infinite presence, I know true safety.
I want to know that my loved ones and I are always safe and secure. At times, however, I may become so eager to establish safety that my actions create turmoil. For instance, while trying to protect others from mistakes, I might become overbearing or interfering. To protect myself from emotional hurt, I might erect walls that cut me off from receiving love.
To let go of the urge to control, I enter the Silence. I remember that divine love and wisdom are within me, and in every person and circumstance. The people I care about are safe and protected because God—as boundless love and perfect wisdom—is with them and within them at all times. In this knowing, I feel safe and secure.

The beloved of the Lord rests in safety—the High God surrounds him.—Deuteronomy 33:12

SERENITY
Nothing can disturb the calm peace of my soul.
Like the eye of a storm, the center of my being is a place of peace and quiet. I turn to this inner sanctuary any time I need to go apart from the world. In this sacred space, nothing can disturb the calm peace of my soul.
In moments of prayer and meditation, I focus on the light within me. By gently turning within, I can achieve serenity anywhere, at any time.
I am filled with the love of God. I feel the strength, wisdom, and light of God enfold me and prepare me for what’s ahead. I center myself with a simple inhale and exhale, and I rest in the awareness that God and I are one.
God is my assurance that all is well. I am at peace.

Live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.—2 Corinthians 13:11

I work with others in harmony and cooperation.
Today I am grounded in a spirit of cooperation. Whether at work or at home, I look for ways to be in agreement. In every discussion, I keep an open mind. I may not solve problems or settle questions in the same way as others, but I do not criticize them or take disagreements personally.
If I find myself in the minority of thought, with others preferring an answer or approach different from my own, I open to see the situation in a new light. I release any need to be right or in control. Instead, I focus on harmony and cooperation. I calmly release feelings of resistance and bless the situation and all involved. Life is a give-and-take activity. I am content as I work with others in harmony and cooperation.
How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!—Psalm 133:1

WORTHY
I am worthy of my good!
Like all people, I want a good life—loving relationships, rewarding work, and abiding peace. Yet these blessings may elude me until I awaken to my inherent worth.
I am created in the image and likeness of God. My worth does not depend on my behaviors. I am intrinsically worthy because I am a living, loving, divine creation.
When doubts arise, I remember the truth of my being. The good I seek is right where I am. The love I desire is the love of God already present. The work I long to do is Spirit’s calling within me. As I stand in my own sacred worth, I feel the blessings of God infill me. I am worthy of my good. I expect the best, and I am ready to receive!
Now, my daughter, do not be afraid, I will do for you all that you ask, for all the assembly of my people know that you are a worthy woman.—Ruth 3:11

DIVINE ORDER
Centered in Spirit, I live in harmony and balance with all creation.
Great dancers have mastered the art of spinning quickly without losing their balance. This is because they know how to center their bodies and then “spot” themselves by focusing on and repeatedly turning their attention to one steady point as they spin.
In the flurry of modern life, I, too, can remain balanced by centering and “spotting.” I begin the day by centering myself spiritually. I release any thoughts of discord, align my thoughts with divine order, and realize the One Mind that is the source of all creation. As I move into the day’s activities, I “spot” myself by repeatedly turning my attention to Spirit. My consciousness of Spirit orders my steps, keeping me balanced throughout the day.

Let your good spirit lead me on a level path.—Psalm 143:10

EVERLASTINGLOVE
I relax and open my heart to the all-embracing, everlasting love of God.
God’s love never waivers. Yet there may be times when I close my heart to knowing the presence of Divine Love. Perhaps I am feeling ashamed or undeserving of love, or my heart is hardened by anger or resentment. Perhaps I feel I must wait until I achieve a particular goal before I allow myself to feel beloved of God.
I now move beyond these barriers.I breathe deeply and remember that God’s love is always mine to have—and to share! In this moment, God’s grace transcends any limited or limiting notions of undeservedness. I gratefully allow God’s loving-kindness to flow freely in and through me, healing and transforming not only me, but the entire world.
The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.—Jeremiah 31:3

PROTECTED
By the power of Christ in me, I am directed and protected.
A turtle is protected by its shell. A bird is protected by flight. A tree is protected by its deep roots. And I am protected by the power of the Christ within.
Christ within is the essence of my being, imbuing me with love, wisdom, strength, power, and faith. When I think, speak, and act from my spiritual center, I have access to all I need to meet challenges and overcome obstacles.
As I focus on the power of the Christ within me, I release error thoughts of worry or fear. I may not know how circumstances will unfold, but I trust that I am secure, that I will know what is mine to do, and that all is in perfect order.

I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these.—John 14:12

Art Archives & Spirituality by Artist, NORA KASTEN

"Lady With Letter"
Painting #238 of 1179 Paintings /  Oil on linen  (30"x24") / Painted in 1996

"The spiritual journey started for me as a little girl, eight years old(I'm 76 now), sitting on the front row pew of our neighborhood Methodist Church in Terre Haute, Indiana.   Other children and friends from my neighborhood were seated with me and none of us wanted to be there.  We loved going to Sunday School and to do that, we had to stay for morning worship service too.  A wonderful lady and servant of God, Miss Bartruff, had heeded God's call and her mission was to bring as many children as she could to church.  She went throughout our neighborhood, knocking on doors and asking mothers if she could be permitted to pick up their children and take them to Sunday School every Sunday morning.  My mother was happy to send us to Sunday School and several other mothers were too.  My girlfriends and I loved Sunday School and our teacher, Mrs. Dooley.  We sure didn't like it though that we had to stay for worship service, sitting on the front row, before Miss Bartruff could take us home.  That was the deal  . . . .  and we did it.

One Sunday, while sitting on that pew, I heard the "Word" and my little girl heart opened.  I received Jesus Christ as my Savior.  I did this without a word to anyone but I was sincere and God's LOVE has never left me.

That's all for today but remembering Miss Bartruff has made me aware once again how very serious and important it is to heed God's call in our lives."

Today's "DAILY WORD" from Unity

SIMPLE WORDS
"I AM a divine expression of Spirit."
My senses of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch emanate from my physical body. My capacity to think independently reflects my mental ability. I understand, however, that I am more than my physical and mental self. I am a spiritual creation.
Although I may sometimes act or speak in error, the perfection of Spirit is within me. As I connect simple but powerful words such as faith, love, and peace with the affirmation, I AM, I affirm my true nature and expand my consciousness. I AM an expression of God’s love and peace right here and now. I AM faith in action.
I embrace the Truth of who I AM and live this truth every day. I AM an expression of Spirit contributing to a world of divine creation.
Truly it is the spirit in a mortal, the breath of the Almighty, that makes for understanding.—Job 32:8

Labyrinth at Unity Village, MO  June 20, 2013

Rose Garden at Unity Village, MO   June 20, 2013

"The retreat and workshop "Living Originally" led by the Unity minister, Robert Brumet, at Unity Village, MO was a wonderful experience for me (and 96 others).  The main thing that I learned about "living originally" is that our lives are being transformed in the process.  We have been translating spiritually but now we are being transformed.

The LOVE of God, Holy Spirit, was a constant and of course everyone felt this Love in all and for all throughout our time together.  It continues though we have all gone our separate ways.

At the workshop, I met a woman who receives messages from the other side as I have since last January, 2013.  This gift has been hers for many years now, since she was a child, and she was very helpful in explaining it to me.  An author she reccommended and a big help is Sonia Choquette and I've read several of her books . . . .  that's one reason I haven't had time to post to the blog.  I will do better because I really do want to share my experiences and what I am learning spiritually.

Late afternoon on Naples Beach at 4th Avenue South

"This is all I carry onto the beach for enjoying a restful couple hours and then a 30 minute walk.
The IPad Mini, with all my downloaded audio books and also books on Kindle along with the IPhone are in the beach bag.  Today I'm listening to "Unfinished Business" by James Van Praagh and I can identify with much of what he says.

This coming Monday, June 17, I am going to Unity Village, MO, the Unity World Headquarters, for a four day retreat.   It is located just outside of Kansas City.  Since this will be my first visit to Kansas City and also Unity Village I plan to spend ten days.

The Unity minister leading the retreat "Living Originally" is Robert Brumet and he is the author of three books that I've read recently.  They are "The Quest For Wholeness",  "Birthing A Greater Reality" and "So You Find Yourself In Transition".  They all have been perfect for me.  I'm reminded of . . . . "When the student is ready, the teacher will come".

"I am so happy to share this photo of Aubrey and Breydon, taken this spring, April, 2013.  Great-Grandma Nora is proud as can be of them both.  Their parents are Dustin and Maggie Simrell of Terre Haute, IN.  My son, Jett Simrell, of Tarpon Springs, FL is their proud Grandpa.

After being really down for six weeks in March and April with a flu bug and then trips to Indianapolis, IN, Atlanta, GA and Venice, FL, I just haven't been able to post Blogs for quite some time.  I am finally well . . . .  most thankful too, and I really want to begin sharing with you my spiritual journey.  No painting is taking place here so I plan to begin the postings right away and hope you will check back soon."
