"Macy In Red Pinafore"
© Nora Kasten
Oil painting on linen (15"x13") Painted in 1995
This was painting # 224 and my last painting was #1147
"Yesterday, I found the photos from a photo shoot I took of this precious little granddaughter in 1995. The painting above is from one of those photos and since I'm older and wiser now, I just thought I could do a really great painting using that photo today. The excitement was high, I painted all day and then wiped out the total face and background. FAILURE . . .. again, but I can't give it up and tomorrow is another day.
The real reason that I'm posting tonight is to let you know about a very good blog that C.W. Mundy has sent us to check out. The blog is by Ryan Mellody and it is GOOD!"

Bonjour Nora,
Sérieusement vous avez effacé ce doux minois ?... Bisous
Darling painting Nora. Keep pushing and you will get it. The wipeout was just a warm up.
There is not a day without tomorrow Nora. And I now a lot about that…
Thanks for Shear the Ryan Mellody link, I have incorporated in my list, very informative and good.
Let us see how you solve the dilemma of Nacy, I found more and more disconcerting to obtain results only from photos without a clear memory of the sitter.
Have a god day of painting.
Nora this is a precious painting! I love the colors and brush strokes, there is so much information to enjoy
Sometimes we try to judge ourselves from a perfection perspective. That can be brutal.
As a viewer, I look to understand and appreciate what has been painted.
There are no mistakes, only misunderstandings.
Great portrait
Great link Nora! Glad to hear you're painting. Good luck with day two on her face!
