I applied Light modeling paste with a palette knife to this 30"x 40" gallery wrap canvas and the next day applied transparent acrylic paints using a large brush.  It will be interesting to see how this painting develops.

Here is the finished painting that I started a few days ago.  So many things kept me away from the easel, including fighting a cold.  I have to attest to the fact that Zicam certainly zapped it pretty quick.

Beginning or first day

The first day's work on this oil painting on gallery wrap canvas (30"x30")

I photographed this painting this morning to record the process.  I'm glad I stopped when I did yesterday afternoon.  Most of this was painted with a large brush and I'm looking forward to some serious palette knife painting today.

This is a painting I painted last summer and today went back in to work on the background, some red outlining and then let some drips appear.   Also want to mention that this bouquet is the centerpiece on our dining room table.  I painted it using Zorn's palette which consisted of only the three colors, cad red light, yellow ochre and ivory black.  It's amazing how so many colors can be made from that palette but I choose this monotone on purpose.
